ثلاث سنوات من المقاطعة، وكيف تصدّعت الصحيفة من داخل قريش.
Quraysh united to boycott Banu Hashim and Banu al-Muttalib and confine them in the Valley (shi'b) of Abu Talib. The blockade lasted three years until some men of Quraysh worked to break the Charter (Sahifah), so the siege ended and Banu Hashim and Banu al-Muttalib came out of the valley.
It represents a stage of severe trial followed by relief, and shows the steadfastness of Banu Hashim and Banu al-Muttalib and the support of some men of Quraysh for the truth in breaking the injustice.
And in this year: Banu Hashim ibn Abd Manaf withdrew, and their brothers Banu al-Muttalib ibn Abd Manaf followed them with Abu Talib to the Valley of Abu Talib. They stayed there for three years, until Al-Mut'im ibn Adi ibn Nawfal ibn Abd Manaf and Zam'ah ibn al-Aswad ibn Abd al-Muttalib ibn Asad worked to annul the Charter, and Banu Hashim and Banu al-Muttalib left the Valley in the late ninth year.
The meaning of the event is that Quraysh tried to pressure the Prophet ﷺ and those with him by boycotting Banu Hashim and Banu al-Muttalib and cutting off dealings with them. But Allah showed a sign in the Charter (Sahifah), then some men of Quraysh agreed to break it, and the boycott ended.
Before this event, Quraysh agreed to write the boycott charter and hang it inside the Kabah, then Banu Hashim and Banu al-Muttalib entered the valley and were besieged.
The intensity of Quraysh's hostility toward the Prophet ﷺ and those who supported him, and their attempt to force them to hand him over for killing.
The Muslims and Banu Hashim moved from a state of severe siege to leaving the valley and the end of the boycott.
It documents one of the harshest stages of the siege of the Prophet ﷺ and his family.
